Step 1. Sketch out the chick.

Step 2. Use yellow and then mix an orange. Use the wet on dry technique and add a light layer to the chick. Use the orange for the beak, feet and the underside of the chick.

Step 3. Mix a green and a yellow green. Use the same technique to paint a layer of grass with a few details.

Step 4. Add a flower detail if you wish. Paint the centre first then add the petal. Add a stem.

Step 5. Mix a black colour and paint the eye.

Step 6. Add more darker layers to certain areas of the painting - underside of the chick and the grass beneath it. All finished!
